Well things have been kind of busy around here. I knew that people would be wondering why my extremely reliable blogging has slowed down, so I decided to give an update.

I had this idea that within two or three days of the surgery I would walking, maybe even running again. Ha. In the mental health profession we call that DENIAL! This attractive boot (or one like it) was my companion for three weeks after I left the crutches behind. Tons of fun in the 100 degree weather.
First, there was my trip to IHOP in early July. That is the House of Prayer not House of Pancakes, just to clarify. My friends Julie, Ann and Pete went with me. I love going there and spending long periods of time in prayer and worship.
Then right after I got back there was the dreaded foot surgery. I thought it might help you sympathize with my rather traumatic experience if you saw a picture of my doctors.
As you can see Dr. Glasses is shocked at what they find when the open up my foot. Never a good sign. The surgery left me dependent on these for 10 days:

Due to my rather long walk into work every morning I was off work for 10 days! Woo Hoo! I love using my vacation time for sitting on the couch. Actually, it was a great opportunity to travel to my grandparents' house in Denison, TX, for several days of being totally taken care of.

Other wise, things have been just totally normal. I am starting work on a new grant and so I finished up with my LAST client in the program I have worked with for almost four years. And I moved offices. This was is much bigger, has nice paint and a private bathroom! It used to be a sleeping room for medical residents in the hospital. The major plus is that the bathroom has a shower so now I can actually sleep in my office with no need to go home at night. That is great news since gas prices are still so high.

Ah the days at IHOP. Shouldn't everyone experience how much more fun the International House of Prayer is compared to the Internationa House of Pancakes?
I totally agree. I mean, the pancake place is pretty tasty but the prayer house has the stuff that really matters!
