I will not claim that my "new thing" is as life changing as the new thing the Lord promises in Isaiah 43, but never the less, it is new.
Let me tell you a few things I am NOT doing:
1. I am not buying a new sports car
2. I am not getting engaged or married (in the near future!!)
3. I am not moving to Europe, South America or any other fun place
4. I am not selling my house (for now)
5. I am not losing the 5 pounds that I am hoping for (nope that would require me to stop eating so much chocolate, not gonna happen)
6. I am not going back to school (hallelujah)
7. I am not redesigning this blog (mostly because I have no idea how to)
It's big though, just wait until you hear about it. Now, to my few commenters (but many readers...I know you are out there thanks to that handy little traffic tracking deal). Any guesses??

Elections
This morning I read Ann's statement about this political season. Thank you Ann! She also reminded me of this video. I couldn't agree with you more.I believe that the Lord has great plans for each and everyone of us and our nation. And that His hand will guide the whole process. But let's keep this all in perspective, really.
There are a few things pretty clear to me:
The Lord's way to redeem this earth has to do with a Savior willing to live a humble life and die a cruel death rather than any earthly ruler.
The Lord can and does work through all kinds of government structures and earthly kingdoms, but none are His plan for salvation.
Jesus has promised to return and establish His Heavenly Kingdom someday (technically from Jerusalem and not DC).

Ice Cream
I neglected to post this earlier, but Monday was Ice Cream Day. That's right! You may remember this summer I alerted you to National Donut Day. Being a lover of all things sweet, I didn't want to miss out on Ice Cream Day!
In celebration, Julie and I left our house at 9 p.m. scouting out some good ice cream. So, I encourage you all to go and ahead and give this important day some honor even if it is a few days late.
