Too Old For Foster Care

Our country faces a huge problem as youths age out of the foster care system with little family support and virtually no where to turn. Many end up living on the streets or in homeless shelters. There is little or no safety net to help most of these vulnerable children who are at an age where most of us still relied heavily on our parents for support, both financial and emotional.

You can find a heartbreaking account of some of these kids in the NY Times, Too Old for Foster Care, Facing the Recession.

The movie "America" (by Rosie O'Donnell on the Lifetime Channel) is about this - it's great!
