Eight and Nine all Rolled into one!

Dear Olivia,

Life got busy and I haven't recorded anything about months 8 and 9. So, here is a little update.

At your 9 month appointment, you came in at 17 pounds, 28 inches. Your mama was just barely 28 inches at one year! You are going to be tall little girl.

You spent the summer loving to swim. We would put you into the water and you thought that you could just swim all on your own. You knew right away to kick your hands and feet.

We had lots of big adventures during these past few months. We took trips, hung out with Mariela, ate lots of new foods and you developed lots of preferences. For instance, you prefer any food that does not include meat, you would rather drink out of mama's cup than your sippy cup, and you would rather someone get a toy for you that is out of your reach than go get it yourself! Finger foods are totally not part of your reality. You will hold them, touch them and look at them but you will not put them in your own mouth! No way. Food comes on a spoon and it gets fed to you by your mama or daddy. Of course.

You got to try out a swing for the first time at Grandma and Grandpa's house. You loved it! You love new experiences and adventures, but you love to be close to Mama and Daddy. These past few months you have started reaching for me immediately when I walk in from work and if I don't pick you up right away, you start to fuss!

You are just wonderful. You are still my sweet little baby who likes to cuddle and be close, but you are gaining your independence and your own ideas as well. You are sleeping in your crib in your own room now. That transition made you seem so big!

I love you Olivia! Every milestone is just so fun to witness and experience.
